PAO.5 Finished!

Resulting in a number of exciting artistic works, the 5th edition of the PAO Experimental Architecture Summercamp got finished by September 3rd, 2009. This time - instead of realising one "grand" structure - the efforts rather lead to a variety of different projects, each one highly individual and personal. Centered around the old school building of Potoc village (which proofed a rich source of ideas and materials) the corresponding projects formed an exhibition space that stretched over large areas of the school´s garden and the buildings interior itself. The final presentation to Potoc´s people turned into real village party eventually.

Lots of nature, landscape and animals formed a beautiful background for the intensive yet joyful two weeks-workshop. Supported by the two lovely "Tanties" (= grannies) Lenuca and Anna, the group easily arranged with the basic yet rich village life of Potoc. The various fieldtrips and encounters with local people provided a large source for the participants ideas and concepts, uncovering the ethnographical, environmental and architectural wealth of the area. A brief review of the workshop will be found on the PAO website http://www.pao-project.org/ soon.

To have the chance of coming to this wonderful stretch of land, to participate in the village life, and to feel the creative spirit of people coming from all directions has been a unique experience. Thanks a million to all the people who joined in, and supported the workshop!
